Windspeeds of over 50 knots on the radar means I’m getting restless.
Saturday the 10th of January promises to be the first storm day of 2015.
In a Group of 4 we travelled down to IJmuiden and on the road it already became clear that mother nature wasn’t playing, our driver had real trouble keeping the car – trailer combination on the road.
Upon arrival on the beach I decided to go with my smallest kite, the Fury 6m.
The wind at that moment was ridiculously strong.
I did a short and fast upwind run to check the condition of the beach, after which I gave it a shot.
On my second run run I already made it to 110Kmh, my previous record.
After that it took quite a while to get higher speed than that.
Interesting to me is that prior to, and after my 116Kmh record run, I had multiple runs of 110 and over.
After a while the beach condition turned bad because of the upcoming water so we decided to pack up our gear and proudly head home with a new record of 116Kmh in the pocket.
